Our house in the village of Brucciano along with one other,
we believe is 400 years old. The house and grounds were
divided in 1992 to form two apartments.
Our neighbours below are Italian - Donatella and Aladino.
Donatella was born in the house. When her parents died,
she along with her sister inherited the building. They split
the house into separate apartments with their own main
doors and gardens. Donatella uses this lower apartment for
weekend breaks. The 4 cellars below the house used to be
the village shop and bar.
We are slowly discovering more history from the locals.
The village itself is very quiet, where traditional values
are still strong. We would please ask that you respect their
peace and way of life in this beautiful medieval spot. On
hot balmy nights, the villagers chat in the square and drink
home made wine or grappa. The season's fruits are shared
and in July, the fireflies dance around like fairies.
